Lhaki construction was established in the year 1989 by Dasho Ugen Dorji. Initially the office was started as sole proprietorship manned by small group of people. Over the years, the company achieved notable practical experiences in the construction business. With the enhanced experience acquired, the business expanded resulting in upgradation in terms of activities and scale of operation. Later, as the Government introduced reformation of the construction industry, and based upon the past performance, the company was registered as Private Limited Company under the Companies Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan – 2000. The office is located at 2nd floor of Lhaki Head Office, Post Box # 179, City Mall, Thimphu. The company has been graded by the Construction Development Board as the large-scale industry specialized in the field of building, water supply, irrigation & flood control, road and bridge construction. The company is equipped with qualified and efficient team members. The following are some of the notable construction works carried out by the company:

RGoB Projects:

  1. Election Commission Office building;
  2. Royal Audit Authority Office building;
  3. RSTA (now BCTA) Office building;
  4. Royal Bhutan Police Headquarters Office building;
  5. New IT building at RIM;
  6. Mongar Regional Referral Hospital (Joint venture with Nima Construction).

International Projects:

  1. Punatsangchu Hydro Power Authority 40-bedded hospital;
  2. Aman Kora (International hotel at Paro);
  3. United Nations House, Thimphu.
